Character Design
Character design plays a crucial role in video games and movies. It aims to make characters engaging, visually stimulating, and memorable. Well-designed characters can give players a sense of progression, inspire deeper engagement with the game or movie, and allow players to admire and empathize with them. Through character design, the creative team has to lead the game’s story to a recognizable interaction between players and the video game. This has the role of generating emotions and immersion.
Creating a 3D character is a multi-stage process that involves various software and tools. The main stages of the pipeline consist of concepting, blocking, sculpting, retopology, UV unwrapping, baking, texturing, rigging & skinning, animation, and rendering. The process usually begins with the creation of a primitive form such as a cube which is then modified using various tools to achieve an organic result.
